The St. Charles Companies this week welcomes singer-songwriter Matt Silkworth with a special performance by Expanding Horizons to the lakeside Sunset Concert Series on Friday night, August 3rd. Matt Silkworth is a singer/songwriter from Baltimore, Maryland who has been writing music since the early age of 12. Expanding Horizons will entertain the St. Charles crowd with a kaleidoscope of musical styles and creative performances. Also appearing will be Julie and The Wannabes, a group of local business leaders who will be making their first-ever appearance in concert. The joint show is part of efforts to showcase local talent at the Sunset Concert Festival.
Along with the concert, residents and visitors from Waldorf and Southern Maryland can enjoy the St. Charles Farmers Market from 4-7:30 p.m. on Friday with delicious produce, fresh flowers, desserts, baked goods, honey and hand-crafted soaps and can dine on chicken sandwiches, salads, wraps, sides and drinks from Chick-fil-A®.
The Sunset Concert Festival is a summer-long arts festival sponsored by The St. Charles Companies and the Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission. Featuring a variety of local artists and musical genres, the concerts are being held every Friday night beginning at 7 p.m.

Plenty of free parking is available and concert goers are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs for seating. Coolers are permitted, but alcohol and glass containers are not permitted. Concerts will end at dusk and all performances are free and open to the public. The O’Donnell Lake Restaurant Park is located at the intersection of St. Patrick’s Drive and Smallwood Drive West in St. Charles, across from the movie theater and the St. Charles Towne Center. Directions: From Route 301, turn onto Smallwood Drive West. Go through two lights, and O’Donnell Lake will be on your right, just past Sears Automotive.
