Jennifer Cooper and GrooveSpan Set to Rock at Sunset Concert Festival June 1

The St. Charles Companies this week brings Jennifer Cooper and Groovespan to the FREE St. Charles’ Sunset Concert Festival on June 1st.  GrooveSpan is the ensemble gathered by Jennifer to satiate her desire to sing her favorite tunes from every genre, decade, style, and groove of popular music! Open to St. Charles residents as well as the general public, this family-friendly concert will feature everything from vintage jazz standards to classic rock. GrooveSpan has a loyal following throughout Southern Maryland and has performed at The Ruddy Duck, The Back Creek Bistro, The Blue Dog, and the Running Hare Vineyard. To go along with the cool jazz, Chick- fil-A® has joined the lineup for the Concert Festival, offering their famous hot chicken sandwiches, salads, wraps and delicious sides and drinks.  The St. Charles Farmers Market will also be open from 4 – 7:30 PM Friday evening and will feature delicious produce, fresh flowers, desserts, baked goods, honey and hand-crafted soaps. 

The Sunset Concert Festival is a summer-long arts festival sponsored by The St. Charles Companies and the Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission. Featuring a variety of local artists and musical genres, the concerts are being held every Friday night beginning at 7 p.m.

Plenty of free parking is available and concert goers are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs for seating. Coolers are permitted, but alcohol and glass containers are not permitted. Concerts will end at dusk and all performances are free and open to the public. The O’Donnell Lake Restaurant Park is located at the intersection of St. Patrick’s Drive and Smallwood Drive West in St. Charles, across from the movie theater and the St. Charles Towne Center.  Directions: From Route 301, turn onto Smallwood Drive West.
