St. Charles' Sunset Concert Festival Welcomes Anthony "Swampdog" Clark

The St. Charles Companies this week welcomes acclaimed blues musician, Anthony “Swamp Dog” Clark to the St. Charles lakefront stage on Friday August 17th for a free concert. Anthony Clark is a world class musician who has performed and recorded with some of the best local and national blues acts. He started out playing the drums at the age of five, and by the time he was twelve, started listening to the blues greats. The band has played up and down the east coast, from Pennsylvania to Tennessee. His CD “RAW” has been featured on many college and Internet radio stations. The band’s website at describes its music as “a blistering mix of contemporary blues with a funk edge.” In 2010, the band was named the winner of the Washington, DC Battle of the Blues Bands. 
Along with the concert, residents and visitors from Waldorf and Southern Maryland can enjoy the St. Charles Farmers Market from 4-7:30 p.m. on Friday with delicious produce, fresh flowers, desserts, baked goods, honey and hand-crafted soaps and can dine on chicken sandwiches, salads, wraps, sides and drinks from Chick-fil-A®. 

The Sunset Concert Festival is a summer-long arts festival sponsored by The St. Charles Companies and the Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission. Featuring a variety of local artists and musical genres, the concerts are being held every Friday night beginning at 7 p.m.

Plenty of free parking is available and concert goers are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs for seating. Coolers are permitted, but alcohol and glass containers are not permitted. Concerts will end at dusk and all performances are free and open to the public. The O’Donnell Lake Restaurant Park is located at the intersection of St. Patrick’s Drive and Smallwood Drive West in St. Charles, across from the movie theater and the St. Charles Towne Center.  Directions: From Route 301, turn onto Smallwood Drive West.
