The St. Charles Companies welcomes the U.S. Army Band Downrange to the free St. Charles Sunset Concert Festival on Thursday, May 19th at 7:00 PM. Joined by the USO, the St. Charles Companies takes great pride in welcoming and celebrating military families throughout the area.

In 2002, Sergeant Major of the Army Jack L. Tilley asked The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” for volunteers to join a contingent of USO performers for an exceptional opportunity: to travel with his “Hope and Freedom Tour” to entertain deployed Troops throughout Southwest Asia during the holiday season. These volunteers were the first members of “Pershing’s Own” to go “downrange” into a theater of foreign combat operations since World War II. It was during this event that the unit’s leadership became vitally aware of the need to perform the popular music of the Troops both overseas and here at home to reinforce team building and morale. The success of this Sergeant Major of the Army-sponsored, boots-on-the-ground mission became an annual event throughout that decade, and through those performances brought about the look and sound that is The U.S. Army Band Downrange. Downrange supports the men and women of the Armed Services through popular music while reaching all audiences, young and old, with their continuously up-to-date repertoire of rock, pop, country, R & B, and inspirational signature patriotic arrangements that are popular with all listeners.

St. Charles has teamed up with Grill No. 13 in 2016, providing a delicious assortment of food from their wide-ranging menu for sale to concertgoers.

The Sunset Concert Festival is a summer-long festival sponsored by The St. Charles Companies. Featuring a variety of local artists and musical genres, the concerts are being held every Thursday night through September 1st.
