The St. Charles Companies will team up with the Charles County Children’s Aid Society and the Maryland Independent to host a Back to School Supplies Drive during the Kajun Kelly free concert on Friday, August 15th at 7 p.m.  Serving the County since 1936, the Children’s Aid Society is a non-profit human service agency, working every day to improve the quality of life for struggling Charles County families with children by providing them with the basic necessities of life. For a full list of needed supplies, please visit:  www.stcharlesmd.com/blog/general/back-school-supply-drive.   Supplies are also being collected at the Apartments at St. Charles leasing office at 10400 O’Donnell Place.

Singer/songwriter Kajun Kelley is a veteran of the Washington DC/Baltimore music scene, earning a reputation as a well-respected singer/songwriter and musician, but in particular for being one of the best guitarists around. Improvising has become what the Kajun Kelley Band’s live shows are best known for. In addition to playing Kajun’s original music, the band has adapted a “no set list, all request” format. In an interview in the March 2011 issue of DC’s On Tap Magazine, Kevin Laliberte (McGinty’s Public House) summed it up nicely, saying about his favorite band, “Kajun Kelley. He is an amazing guitarist. You can ask him to play any song and he will play it ten times better than the original.”  Kajun will be performing a number of songs off his CD's as well as select covers.
