“Heroes to Hometowns” Looks to Southern Maryland Residents to Support Local Wounded Warriors

Thursday, July 25, 2013

In 2003, Wounded Warrior Project® was formed to honor and empower our nation’s Wounded Warriors; veterans who fought for our freedoms and came home injured. The nationwide program provides programs structured to “engage warriors, nurture their minds and bodies and encourage their economic empowerment.”* On Saturday, August 10th, residents of St. Charles and our surrounding neighbors have an opportunity to give back to the many local veterans who now need our support.

The fundraiser will be held at Huntt’s Tavern at 1:00 on August 10th in Pomfret, MD. A $20 per person donation provides you with not only a great sense of pride and tribute but a fantastic lunch served between 2 and 6 PM of burgers, hot dogs, brats, cole slaw, mac n’ cheese, pasta salad and desserts! Play some pool, enjoy outdoor activities, a silent auction, door prizes and live music between 2 PM and midnight. Directions are available at http://www.hunttstavern.com/directions.html
Own a business? The fundraiser, which is supported by both Huntt’s Tavern and the Harry White Wilmer American Legion Post 82, is in need of donated items for the silent auction. The organizers can use items that stand alone or can go into a basket to be bid on at the silent auction. All donations will be recognized by a receipt for 501(c) 19 tax exempt status! Please contact Kevin Kling at hunts2@aol.com.
We think this is a great way to recognize the spirit of our recent 4th of July holiday and hope you can join in this great event!
