Tuesday, August 30, 2011

The new television series, “Saved by a Stranger: Extraordinary Acts of Courage,” on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), plans to air an upcoming story from Charles County in a future episode.

A camera crew from Skip Films and a consultant with OWN, visited Charles County recently to tape a segment highlighting an emergency dispatcher, James Maloney and Madison Davis, a seven-year-old from Charles County.

On March 6, 2011, the quick thinking young Davis called 911 while her mother was having a life threatening medical emergency.  James Maloney was the dispatcher who received the call and ultimately helped save the life of Madison’s mother. Maloney and Davis gained national media attention for their story, and the OWN contacted Charles County Government expressing interest in sharing their story.
