The Charles County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce an Opportunity Fair for retired and active duty veterans on Saturday, October 19th, at the Waldorf West Library in St. Charles, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Chamber President, Craig Renner, spoke to the importance of this inaugural event, saying, “The Charles County Chamber of Commerce and its member businesses recognize the importance of active duty and retired military to our county economy, and the quality of life we enjoy in our community. We know how important the skills and talents of our veterans are to the economic vitality of Charles County, but more importantly, we know that each of us owes a special debt to all those who served or continue to serve in our nation's defense.”
The Opportunity Fair will have information for our military community about health, medical, housing, education, and employment benefits available veterans and their families. Many of the County's largest employers will participate in the job fair.
The Opportunity Fair will be held in conjunction with the St. Charles Fall Festival, which will feature:
• a concert by the USAF band Max Impact
• free pumpkins (while supplies last) for children
• restaurant vendors like Chick Fil A and Boston's the Gourmet Pizza
• an artist's market
• The Waldorf weekly farmer's market
• the Waldorf Rotary Club will be hosting a 60-mile bike ride that will begin and end at O'Donnell Lake in St. Charles.
• A classic car show
