Run, Play and Bark!

The Charles County Humane Society is planning another fantastic Bark in the Park on Sunday, October 13th from 10 – 3 with country band Sam Grow taking the main stage at the Charles County Fairgrounds. But before you enjoy the show, come out to the Run Like an Animal 5K and Fun Run! This timed event, starting at 9 am, managed by Amazing Race Timing, is expected to draw runners from all over the Washington Metro area.

Did you know that EVERY year, the Charles County Humane Society: o    Cares and shelter over 4,000 animals
o    Offers emergency vet care and rehabilitation for sick, abused, injured or stray pets
o    Offers low-cost vaccine and microchip clinics for the community
o    Provides free or low-cost spay/neuter programs for lower income households, and affordable spay/neuter services for over 3,000 pets annually
o    Offers affordable adoption programs for dogs, cats, birds, and pocket pets
o    Promotes responsible pet ownership through Humane Education programs that reach 15,000 children, teens, and adults annually
o    Provides Pet Therapy visits to veterans homes, senior centers, special needs facilities, and more
