Shop for Local Produce Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at O'Donnell Lake

Heralding the beginning of the summer growing season, the St. Charles/Waldorf Farmers’ Market opens on Saturday, May 5 at the waterfront O’Donnell Lake location near St. Patrick’s and Smallwood Drives near Waldorf, MD.  This year, the producer-only St. Charles Market will grow, incorporating the local farms and vendors from the Festival at Waldorf Market.  This year’s vendors will offer a smorgasbord of foods and products including:

•    Locally raised meats
•    Local cheeses
•    Flowers of all kinds
•    Garden plants and herbs
•    Seven fresh produce vendors
•    Goat milk and herbal soaps
•    Farm fresh eggs
•    Hand crafted honey
•    Pastries and desserts

The Market will also grow its hours, opening on Wednesday and Friday nights as well as on Saturdays. On Wednesday and Saturday, the market will be held in the parking lot of the Hilton Garden Inn, at the intersection of O'Donnell Place and St. Patrick's Drive. On Friday the market will be held on O'Donnell Place between Boston's Restaurant and The Apartments of St. Charles Leasing Office.

"We're very pleased to welcome the farmers market back to St. Charles, and look forward to helping our local farmers have a very productive season," said Craig J. Renner, vice president of marketing and public relations. "Because it is a producer-only market, patrons can be sure that what they purchase has been grown by the farmer that is selling them their produce, fresh and delicious and right here in Southern Maryland."
