All-Star Celebration, Featuring “Circurious”, Family Entertainment and All-Star Baseball will Showcase Our All-Star Community

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

The “stars” of our St. Charles community include the ability to take a walk along a misty lake every morning, walking hand-in-hand with your child to a neighborhood elementary school, knowing you are just minutes away from shops and restaurants, having a quiet moment at the County’s newest library or listening to a local singer/songwriter on a warm summer night.

On July 9 and 10 St. Charles will welcome stars of a different kind as Regency Furniture Stadium hosts the 2013 Atlantic League All-Star Game with 2013 sponsors St. Charles Companies, Lennar Homes and Ryan Homes. On Wednesday, July 10th, some of professional baseball's most accomplished stars will take the field as the Liberty Division and the Freedom Division match-up in what promises to be a highlight of the 2013 season. But wait! There’s more!

On Tuesday, July 9th, St. Charles and Southern Maryland residents and visitors are invited to kick off the festivities of All-Star weekend with an All-Star Celebration, featuring the live show, "Circurious", appearing on a giant stage set up in the infield of the ballpark. The celebration will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will feature a festive atmosphere complete with food, acts, and strolling performers. In addition there will be a dueling piano performance by Bobby McKeys. “Circurious” will take the main stage at 8:00 p.m., followed by an unbelievable fireworks show.

“Circurious,” a touring production of Cirque-tacular Entertainment, combines the idea of “going to the circus” with entertaining and athletic performers such as contortionists, singers, dancers, aerialists and acrobats to entertain audiences of all ages. These performers, accompanied by a host, will take the audience through time, decade by decade, beginning with Harry Houdini in 1911 and moving through Buffalo Bill, the United Service Organization, the war era and even highlighting the fun and novelty of the 1950s. Throughout the entire show the host will include fun facts about American show business to educate the audience, as the performers amaze with daring acts.

Fans attending the All-Star Celebration, presented by Turkey Hill, will also have the opportunity to mingle with the 2013 Atlantic League All-Star players and managers, as well as with all of the League’s mascots. There will be something for everyone at the festival including carnival food, games, mascots, face painters, and entertainment - plus many special surprises!

Tickets for the Atlantic League All-Star Celebration on July 9th are just $15 per person.
