TOUR, TASTE, AND LEARN ABOUT SOUTHERN MARYLAND’S NEWEST FARM-TO-TABLE PROGRAM
On April 23rd, from 5 pm – 7 pm, visitors to the PA Bowen farm in Aquasco will have an opportunity to learn about Community Supported Agriculture and taste locally grown and locally made products.
For over 25 years, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has become a popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food from local farmers. In Southern Maryland, A Taste of Southern Maryland is working with a network of producers and selling shares of locally grown produce, cheeses, and meats. Full shares sell for $55 each week and comprise ten pounds of fresh produce along with meat and dairy gift card. Half shares are $35 and contain five pounds of the same or similar products. For those seeking a more comprehensive local food solution, the ingredients for three meals in a dinner box are available at a cost of $80 per week. All shares will be shipped to your doorstep.
