St. Charles Announces 2016 Scholarship Winners

The St. Charles Companies proudly announce that four St. Charles, MD area students have been selected for the 2016 St. Charles Community Scholarship awards and the Apartments of St. Charles award. The scholarships are funded annually by the St. Charles Companies and conducted in cooperation with the Charles County Scholarship Fund.

Amanda Smith, Jeanne Dela Cruz, Lee Adrian Tengco and Leah Pennington have each been awarded $500 scholarships for the 2016-2017 school year.

Amanda Smith is the recipient of the Apartments of St. Charles Award. Ms. Smith, who volunteers extensively at South Potomac Church, graduated from St. Charles High School and will be majoring in Theater Arts at the College of Southern Maryland.

Jeanne Dela Cruz, ranked 2nd in her class at St. Charles High School, wil be pursuing a major in Computer Science at George Washington University.

Lee Adrian Tengco, who aspires to be an officer in the US Navy, graduated from North Point High School and will be majoring in Medical Laboratory Technology at the College of Southern Maryland.

Leah Pennington, who ranked 10th in her class at North Point High School, will be pursuing a major in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine at NC State University.

Each year, St. Charles awards $500 scholarships to St. Charles students, through applications submitted via the Charles County Scholarship Foundation, Inc.
