Each year, the St. Charles Companies awards four scholarships to a graduating senior or current college student to a St. Charles community resident. We are excited to announce this year's recipients:
- Darah Gunn from Maurice J. McDonough High School. Darah will attend Salisbury University and plans to major in either finance or graphic design. She chose Salisbury because of their strong business and art programs, the size of the student population, and its proximity to home. Darah is the youngest of seven children.
- Ishmail Harris from Thomas Stone High School. Ishmail will attend North Carolina Wesleyan College and plans to major in either biomedicine or english. He discovered North Carolina Wesleyan during a college fair and was invited to visit the school. Ishmail will play soccer for the college.
- Ashlynn Stanley from North Point High School. Ashlynn will attend the University of Michigan and plans to major in material science engineering. Despite the distance from home and drastic climate change, she was drawn to Michigan for its strong engineering program. Ashlynn is the oldest of two children.
- Taylor Blare from Maurice J. McDonough High School. Taylor will attend the University of Maryland, College Park's Honors College. She plans to study biology.
