It sure seems that the Christmas spirit has hit the Southern Maryland area a lot sooner than years past. Last week while I was out getting the boys haircuts, we spotted the small Christmas tree up in the shopping plaza. And Santa Claus has arrived at the St. Charles Towne Center Mall. As we head into the holiday season, here is a list of some of the fun family events in the Southern Maryland area. The holidays can get hectic and stressful. Be sure to schedule in some family time to enjoy this season.

Victorian Christmas at Dr. Samuel A. Mudd House: December 6-7
The Dr. Samuel A. Mudd House re-opens every year for one weekend to celebrate a Victorian Christmas. Enjoy Victorian period Christmas decorations, a large collection of antique dolls, and a reenactment of the Civil War. Mr. and Mrs. Claus also will be present! Caring Santa: Sunday, December 7 from 8:30-10:00 am
Children with special needs and their families can enjoy a subdued and crowd free visit with Santa at the St. Charles Towne Center. Be sure to make reservations through Event Brite.
