Happenings at the St. Charles Fall Festival

Friday, October 17, 2014

Last weekend I brought my two boys and I braved the soggy weather and headed to the St Charles Fall Festival at O'Donnell Lake. Last year they had such a great time painting pumpkins and wandering around that I knew we couldn't miss out!

The Festival was in honor of Veterans, who have served and are continuing to serve. There was a wide range of vendors available to discuss Veteran's opportunities, including Calvert Health Care, Charlotte Hall Veteran's Center, and Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing.

If you wanted to do a bit of shopping for unique home decor crafts, knits, jewelry and holiday items there were plenty of small businesses selling incredible items. My boys loved the crochet toys from Kids, Coffee and Crochet. I even picked up an adorable crochet tooth fairy pillow for Xander, who is on the verge of losing his first tooth.

After we were all shopped out (aka mommy spent all her money), we explored the kids activities. The rainy weather did to stop the boys from burning off some energy in the bounce house. When my youngest started getting fussy in the stroller, I corralled the big kids out of the bounce house and we wandered some more. They visited with the clown and then nibbled on popcorn. Lastly, they set to work creating pumpkin masterpieces at the pumpkins decorating booth sponsored by The Drop Zone Childcare.

On our way out, I picked up a delicious sandwich from the food vendor, Elena's Deli. Have you been there yet? If not, check out my review on the deli and stop on in for lunch soon. We finally made our way back to the car with pumpkins, popcorn, delicious food, and new toys. The St Charles fall festival was a blast for all of us. Be sure not to miss the next festival they plan in the upcoming months!

Have you been to a fall festival or other event sponsored by The St. Charles Companies yet?
