About The St. Charles Companies
The St. Charles Companies is the master developer of St. Charles, Maryland, the 9,100 acre, best-selling planned community in Southern Maryland. Our mission is to develop St. Charles in a sustainable manner that builds long-term value for its residents and businesses.
In 1968, our predecessor company acquired more than 7,000 acres of land in Charles County just 22 miles from the White House, to develop as the master-planned community of St. Charles, MD. Today, St. Charles is considered to be one of the most successful planned communities in the country, becoming an economically self-sustaining community that provides an enjoyable and attractive place to live for residents from all walks of life. St. Charles is master planned to include 24,730 homes on 9,100 acres in five villages-Smallwood, Westlake, Fairway, Wooded Glen and Piney Reach. The first two villages are complete; the third, Fairway, is under construction, and homes are now available in Fieldside, the first neighborhood in the Village of Wooded Glen. St. Charles residential mix is diverse, and includes luxury single family homes and townhomes, affordable apartments, age restricted communities, and fair market apartments.
