St. Charles High School: Features and Highlights



Located on a 99-acre site donated by St. Charles Companies, St. Charles High School opened on August 2014, with homes in Gleneagles and Fieldside neighborhoods within St. Charles zoned to attend the school. 


St. Charles High School includes programs on environmental and natural resource management, technology, and current issues related to these fields of study. Additionally, St. Charles High School students have cutting edge learning experiences such as a digital classroom, Science on a Sphere and Telepresence technology. Science on a Sphere was co-developed by NASA and provides students with visual instruction about science, the Earth and the environment.

St. Charles High School has partnered with various agencies, businesses, universities and colleges to enhance opportunities within the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program. This includes NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, National Defense Education Program, National Space Foundation, Colorado Springs, Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland, College Park, University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and Chesapeake Bay Trust.St. Charles High School will also include many athletic features unique to the school such as a football stadium with an eight-lane track; bleacher seating for 1,500 home/500 visitors; 14 fields including football, baseball, softball, soccer, field hockey and lacrosse, and eight tennis courts. Our commitment to neighborhood schools extends to the support of early learning programs like The Judy Centers and the awarding of thousands of dollars in scholarships for outstanding St. Charles high school seniors.

That's why we have donated land for ten neighborhood schools in St. Charles, including 8 elementary schools, and will continue to provide school sites as we plan future communities.
