About St Charles

Saint Charles, located in Southern Maryland, is considered one of the most successful planned communities in the country. Located just 11 miles outside the Washington Capital Beltway, it is zoned to include 24,730 housing units in five villages; Smallwood, Westlake, Fairway, Wooded Glen, and Piney Reach. The first two, Smallwood and Westlake are fully completed, and Fairway Village is currently being developed with three neighborhoods: Sheffield, Heritage, and Gleneagles, all with major roadways and significant infrastructure already in place.

Saint Charles is a mixed-use planned community. With residents' quality of life in mind, our community has donated land for ten neighborhood schools, and has built eight neighborhood centers which include swimming pools, playgrounds, and tennis courts.
