ACPT is working with partners like Meridian Ventures, the Charles County Government and the State of Maryland to create a Green Jobs Opportunity Zone in the heart of St. Charles’ commercial districts. Proposed legislation would provide for State reimbursement to the County of a certain portion of the property tax credits the County would grant for new high performance buildings constructed in the zone. Similar to the enterprise zone concept, it would also grant one-time income tax credit for business that new hire new employees within the zone. The Green Job Opportunity Zone is part of our effort to bring 20,000 green jobs to St. Charles. Check out the details of our legislative initiative here.
